Bilateral meeting with The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to continue cooperation of programs to fight AIDS, Tubers and Malaria in Cambodia.

In Geneva, Switzerland: On May 20, 2026, H.E. Prof. Chhang Ra, Minister of Health, led the delegation of the Ministry of Health of Cambodia accompanied by H.E. Ambassador Ke Sovann, Permanent Representative of Cambodia to the United Nations and International Organizations in Geneva, Switzerland, held a bilateral meeting with Mrs. Sylwia Murray, Fund Portfolio Manager and Department. Managing grants for Asia Team (Asia Team, Grant Management Division) at Global Fund headquarters.
The meeting aims to review the progress of Cambodia's HIV, Tuberculosis, and Tuberculosis programme, focusing on discussing financial challenges and finding sustainable strategies to ensure that Cambodia can continue to maintain its achievements and move towards fully eradicating these three diseases.
H.E. Minister welcomed and thanked The Global Fund for sponsoring Cambodia for more than two decades. The H.E. Minister said that this support has really made a significant contribution to reducing the rates of births and deaths due to HIV, measles and fever, as well as strengthening the health system at the grassroots. Professor Chiang Ra added that the Cambodian Government is committed to continue investing for these three disease-fighting programmes in line with The Global Fund’s strategy, and that continued active support, across all aspects of The Global Fund and multilateral development partners, will ensure the long-term impact and sustainability of the health resource partnership.
In response, Mrs. Sylwia Murray, the Global Fund has praised Cambodia's commitment and achievements, which is considered a model country in managing HIV, Tuberculosis and HIV in the Asia-Pacific and globally. She mentioned that The Global Fund is facing global financial challenges, but stated that The Global Fund will continue to support Cambodia through technical assistance, to strengthen surveillance and response systems, coordination with new development partners, support to strengthen community health systems.
