Kuala Lumpur: On Wednesday, 9 September 2026, on the occasion of the 17th ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting (17th AHMM) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, H.E. Professor Chheang Ra, Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led the Cambodian delegation in the bilateral meeting with H.E. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.
During the meeting, both sides recalled and encouraged the implementation of the 2024 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) covering four priority areas: healthcare services, healthcare resilience (emergency response, pharmaceutical and medical equipment security), human resources, and health technology (digital and biotechnology). H.E. Professor Chheang Ra also requested for Indonesia’s collaboration in training Cambodian health professionals through scholarships, clinical attachments, and exchange of practical experiences.
The meeting proceeded in a warm and cordial atmosphere, with both sides reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening the health of the population and enhancing regional cooperation.
