His Excellency Professor Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, held a meeting with Mr. Algernon Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong, People’s Republic of China.
During the meeting, Mr. Algernon Yau briefed the Cambodian health delegation on key areas of cooperation between the two countries and the potential for collaboration across various sectors, including health—particularly in hospital development. He also expressed admiration for Cambodia’s rapid and strong progress, and highlighted the significance of the “Belt and Road Initiative” in promoting economic development and public well-being.
On this occasion, His Excellency the Minister expressed his appreciation and admiration for the advancement of Hong Kong and emphasized the importance of fostering global partnerships to support economic development and knowledge exchange in the health sector. He also highlighted Cambodia’s commitment to participating in economic development to support joint cooperation projects that will benefit the people of both sides, strengthen continued collaboration, and promote well-being for populations in the region and beyond.
